2014 Dark Matter ‘Limitless’ Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Limitless might equal the 2013, ultimately. It is juicy, sexy and lush, with blueberry and blackberry fruit, spring flower garden notes intermixed with spice, graphite and a wonderful, long finish. Drink it over the next 15-20 years (although this is a barrel sample and has not yet been bottled).
These wines are from four Mondavi sisters – Giovanna, Riana, Alycia and winemaker Angelina – the granddaughters of Peter Mondavi Sr. It is a relatively small operation of less than 200 cases annually of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Rocky Ridge Vineyard on Howell Mountain. I tasted four vintages.
