WSI96 The 2014 Leto The Hidden One Exceptional Selection is a classically styled Napa Valley Cabernet with intense aromas of red, black berries, and blue berries. These aromatics beautifully complement a rich, deep mouth coating palate of spice, integrated tannins, and balanced oak. A nice lingering acidity keep the palate lively and perfectly compliments the spice and leather and cigar finish.
Exceptional is the perfect name for this two barrel production of Single Vineyard (Single Block), Cabernet Sauvignon from Leto Cellars. Created from select rows of low-yielding and dry framed 45 year old Cabernet Sauvignon vines. With highly concentrated juice extracted from tiny berries the wine has incredible intensity and remarkable persistence. With a total production of just 76 cases, it doesn’t get much more rare than this bottling from Leto.
Winemaker Brad Warner began his career humbly in the cellar at Charles Krug Winery in 1967. Leveraging his innate wine sense and endless curiosity, Brad advanced to the highest levels of Robert Mondavi’s distinguished winemaking operation as Vice President of Production and Director of Property and Facilities over the course of his 30-year tenure.
Throughout his career, Brad traveled to world-renowned Bordeaux and Burgundy regions in France to learn the classic methods of winemaking and cellar operations. An innovator in wine production, Brad leveraged his experiences to develop cellar protocol that is used in nearly every modern winery today.
After his time at Mondavi, Brad became the Winemaker and Director of Operations at Sawyer Cellars, Winemaker and General Manager at Foley Johnson Winery, and today, Winemaker and co-Owner of Leto Cellars.
