VIN93 The 2014 Proprietary Red is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine with important contributions from the Merlot and Malbec. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, lavender and spice notes infuse this succulent, forward wine. The Proprietary Red is tasty, but it is not markedly different from the Cabernet Sauvignon, although there is more textural depth and overall intensity.
Estate Notes: 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 10% Malbec. From Ash Vineyards, Oakville, Napa Valley. Lovely complexity defines the aromas of this Bordeaux-style blend. Ripe blueberry, dark anise and woodsy notes, a hint of bright raspberry and a touch of sweet herbals show both in the aromas as well as the flavors of this lively blend. Somewhat lighter than the Cabernet in structure, the wine shows its composition with hints of sweet bay leaf and dried cherry on the finish. Full bodied, round silkiness, elegant and restrained. Organically farmed.
