2015 Zakin Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

The deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is scented of cassis, violets and chocolate box with touches of dried herbs, lavender and roses. The palate is medium to full-bodied, taut, chewy and refreshing with an herbal lift and long savory finish.
VIN94 I am surprised to see that Zakin’s 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon hasn’t budged much at all since I last tasted it about a year ago. Still tight and reticent, the 2015 packs a real punch, even if it remains compact and in need of further cellaring. A blast of dark cherry, plum, smoke, leather and licorice makes a strong impression, that much is obvious. I would prefer to cellar the 2015 for another few years to see if the tannins relax a bit.
