A total “Wow!” wine, the 2016 Côtes du Rhône Reserve (60/40 Grenache and Mourvèdre) boast knockout notes of blackcurrants, black raspberries, smoked herbs, licorice and crushed rock-like minerality. Big, rich, unctuous and layered, yet still fine and finesse-driven, drink this full-bodied powerhouse anytime over the coming decade or more.
Aromas of black cherries, plums, hints of vanilla and colored peppers. Full-bodied, ripe and plush; flavors of wild strawberries and blackberries. Estate vines grow on very sandy soils, near the lieu-dit ‘La Guigasse,’ from which the estate harvests fruit for its Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve. AGE OF VINES: 20 years (Mourvèdre); 70 years (Grenache). BLEND: 75% Grenache and 25% Mourvèdre.
