Gorgeous nose, black fruits, spice. Smooth entry and across the palate, very fresh and clean, with flavors of dark red and black fruits, very approachable, with fine tannins and wonderful texture. The finish is long, expressive and bright. A blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah. After de-stemming and soft crushing, each varietal is macerated and fermented separately in steel tanks for approximately 15/18 days before the skins are soft pressed and the wine is transferred into barrels for malolactic fermentation. Aged in 100% new French oak barriques for 9 months and an additional 6 months in bottle before release. Vineyards are located adjacent to Sassicaia and Guado al Tasso! The winery has been in existence for 45 years but only recently started pricing its one wine. First time in the US market.
