WA92+ The 2016 Malbec is blended of 75% Malbec and 25% Merlot aged 22 months in 50% new French oak, with fruit from Coombsville (75%) and St. Helena (25%). Very deep purple-black in color, it reveals gorgeous crème de cassis, preserved black cherries and blackberry tart with touches of lilacs, baking spices and dark chocolate. Full-bodied and laden with black fruits and floral accents, it has a firm backbone of grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long. 195 cases produced.
JD92 The 2016 Malbec Napa Valley includes 25% Merlot and spent 22 months in 50% new French oak. It’s another outstanding wine from Anna as well as a terrific value. Lots of blue fruits, bay leaf, and hints of lead pencil all flow to a ripe, medium to full-bodied, seamless Malbec that has fruit galore as well as plenty of elegance. Drink it over the coming decade.
