For more than a quarter century, Patz & Hall has exemplified one philosophy: to work with only the finest vineyards, farmed by California’s greatest winegrowers. This focus has led them to create lasting relationships with legendary local growers, and has given them unprecedented access to the finest sites and clones in Sonoma County. From these prized vineyards, Patz & Hall makes some of the New World’s most stirring and sought-after single-vineyard Pinot Noirs—wines that have become benchmarks for their intensity, elegance and complexity.
To craft this wine of great distinction from the remarkable 2016 vintage, Winemaker James Hall selected Pinot Noir from a special vineyard block located on the western edge of Russian River Valley, near the town of Occidental. The block was planted exclusively for Patz & Hall and is farmed by one of California’s preeminent vineyard managers, Charlie Chenoweth. It promises a wine that balances depth, power and purity of Pinot Noir with structure and finesse. This “Magnum Cum Laude” lot includes one case bottled in Magnum format. Winemaker: James Hall
