2016 Terrace View ‘Harrier Ridge’ Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc

Estate grown fruit with wonderful concentrated flavours was produced in the 2016 vintage at our Mangatahi vineyard. Our Sauvignon Blanc is a vibrant wine with crisp flavours enhanced by barrel fermentation and aging sur lie. The wine shows superb complexity and length. Mid straw yellow with a green tint. A delightful blend of papaya and peach characters, barrel and fermentation aromas. Layers of passionfruit, vanilla and toasty oak aromas indicate the depth of wine to come. An array of passionfruit, guava, tropical fruit, toast and butterscotch leads to a lingering finish. Partial malolactic fermentation provides a lactic character to the acid balance in this wine. Hand harvested fruit was cool fermented in French Oak barrels to emphasise its fruit characters. The wine was then given extended lees contact to increase complexity.100% Sauvignon Blanc.
