2016 Walter Hansel ‘Cahill Lane Vineyard’ Pinot Noir

WA93 Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir Cahill Lane gives up a beautifully earthy nose of truffles, black soil and mossy bark with a core of warm cherries, black raspberries and red plums. Medium to full-bodied, it coats the palate with red berries and plum-inspired layers, framed by fine-grained tannins and great freshness, finishing long and earthy. 784 cases produced.
VIN93 The 2016 Pinot Noir Cahill Lane Vineyard is bright, focused and very tightly wound, pretty much as it was last year. This an especially translucent, nuanced Pinot from Hansel. Today, the flavors are really popping; sweet red cherry, red plum, rose petal, mint and chalk are all beautifully delineated in an enticing, expressive Pinot loaded with class and character.
