A lush rosé and a few decorative votive candles, and you’re well on your way to hosting the perfect backyard dinner party. Fabre en Provence’s Cru Classé is a vibrant blend of 35% Syrah, 35% Cinsault, and 30% Grenache fruit from the Pierrefeu vineyards. The calcareous terroir lends a spicy minerality to this wine, which is slightly less floral than blends from coastal regions. With aromas of rose and raspberry, and tasting notes of strawberry and white peach, this is a crisp, clean, and eminently drinkable wine. Pairs well with prawns, brie, gazpacho, and strawberries. 13% alc.
This wine is every bit as good as Ott, and from the family that helped found the AOC in Provence (and owns 2 of the 18 existing Cru Classes) at nearly half the price.
The Fabre family is 17 generations in and still going strong!
While their basic estate rose has become one of our best sellers, very little of the Cru has made its way to American shores in the past year – still a rare item.
