Overview: Three Maresh generations at work in the second oldest vineyard (planted 1970) in the Dundee Hills with organic farming practices since the beginning.
Vineyard: On Worden Hill Road, aka “Routes des Grands Crus”, in the heart of the Dundee Hills AVA. Red, volcanic, Jory clay-loam soil. Low-yielding, dry-farmed, old vines.
Winemaking: the philosophy is nothing added except for minimal protective sulfur, and nothing taken away. Native yeasts, crushed whole berry ferments, unfined, unfiltered.
Aging: 100% French oak for 20 months, 5% new
Production: 422 cases
Tasting notes: red cherry, roses, minerals, concentrated, detailed, finesse
