RP (AG) 94 The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon caresses the palate with deep layers of dark red fruit, rose petals, smoke and espresso. It is a bit more voluptuous and sexy than the 2008 in its sleek, polished personality. All of the elements flow gracefully to the huge, textured finish. The 2009 is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot.
The nose reveals ripe, dark fruits of blackberry and red currants with background hints of lead pencil, mocha and black tea leaf. On the palate, the texture is silky and the attack is broad. Velvety tannins showcase black currant and cassis, with high notes of black cherry. Bittersweet chocolate and tobacco linger on the finish. Ample structure of fine grain tannins will allow for cellar aging. This wine comes from two notable Napa Valley vineyards: McBride and Beckstoffer’s Missouri Hopper. 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot. Just 400 cases produced.
