Why Some of Our Best Prices Only Appear in Cart
How we can offer “Preferred Client Pricing”
Over the last few weeks, you may have seen an email (like this one) from us featuring fine wine deals where the final price appears only after the bottle is added to your cart.
We understand that this can feel like an extra step, but in many cases, it is actually a sign that you are looking at one of the more compelling opportunities we are able to offer.
Wine Spectrum has spent decades building relationships across the wine world: with producers, importers, distributors, collectors, and trusted private sources. Those relationships allow us to secure access to exceptional wines, often in limited quantities, and sometimes at pricing that is significantly better than what we are able to display publicly.
That distinction matters.
Many respected producers are willing to work with us on special opportunities for our clients, but they also want to protect the long-term reputation of their wines. A publicly advertised discount can affect how a wine is perceived, how it is represented by other retailers, and how future releases are positioned in the market.
Because we value these relationships, we honor those requests.
That is why some wines on our site use “add to cart to see price.” It allows us to offer preferred pricing to our clients while still respecting the producers and partners who make these opportunities possible.
There is no obligation to complete the purchase. You can simply add the bottle to your cart, view the price, and decide from there.
For us, this is not a gimmick. It is part of how we continue to bring our clients the good stuff: serious fine wine deals, carefully sourced, often in very limited quantities, with access and pricing that would not be possible without the trust we have built over time.
When you see “add to cart to see price,” it often means there is a private value waiting; one we are pleased to make available to Wine Spectrum clients.
