The foundation of this wine is primarily from Bennett Vineyard located in the Coombsville appellation. The soil and gentle eastern slope combine to create a wine with the lushness of the valley floor. Bottled Unfiltered. Merus is crafted by David Lattin., who started as an Enologist in 1986 at Robert Pecota. He then joined Acacia in 1987 where he became head Winemaker in 1992 and then became general manager/winemaker in 1997. In 2002, he started at Kuleto Estate where he continue to works in conjunction with being the winemaker at Merus. At Merus he employs a slightly more natural approach to making the wine (e.g. more native yeast, less acidulation of the must, some cooler fermentations), with the goal of having the wine reflect its natural terroir.
