2014 Carter ‘Weitz Vineyard’ Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

RP95 From above the Dalla Valle vineyard in Oakville emerges the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard (160 cases). This is a 25-year wine for sure and a rather classic Oakville, with notes of Pauillac-like cedariness, Christmas fruitcake, crème de cassis, licorice and pen ink. It is full-bodied, dense, moderately tannic and for 2014 probably better in 2-3 years time, although certainly has the depth and richness and overall equilibrium to age for 20-25 years.
