WA94 Coming from the famous Les Collines vineyard, the 2016 Syrah Les Collines has a firm, rustic nose with a dark mineral tone that is brooding with spice and tightness in the glass. Full-bodied on the palate, the wine is clean and grippy in its youth and shows incredible complexity, merging to a dusty purple floral tone toward the back. Ending with a long, drawn-out and focused finish, the wine is still tight and will need some time to come around. Only 456 cases were produced, and if you can wait a decade to begin opening these bottles, your patience will be rewarded.
