WSI93+ A crisp and refreshing Chardonnay. Very delicate exotic nose, growing stronger in the glass over time but quite restrained overall. A natural tension between fruit and minerality, lots of savory notes and a satisfying finish. Pratt and Falcon Crest Vineyards. Aged 16 months in 100% French Oak, 28% new, 14% once used and 58% four years old. 175 cases produced.
Estate Notes: Barrel-fermented in 100% French oak – but not to worry – only 28% new oak. Diehards longing for wood-laden cougar juice need not apply. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, this wine exudes impeccable balance. Aromas of a fresh rain that just hit your cement driveway and orange blossoms dance with toasty brioche and the soft fontanel of a newborn. Flavors of D’Anjou pear, blood-orange zest and agnostic apple are heightened by a hint of lemon curd and salty minerality. The crisp, persistent finish carries through to the next sip, and feels as cool as the other side of the pillow.
