The inviting nose offers exotic spicy notes of berries, stone fruits, Szechwan peppers, black licorice, and sandalwood. The color is dark, brilliant, and lively, a prelude of what is to come. The framework of this substantial yet elegant wine is shaped by a foundation built on historic old vine Zinfandel, offering rich, bright notes of fresh red berries, cherry pie, leather, and a hint of Allspice. Polished tannins and an appropriate amount of acidity lift the wine and add freshness to the lingering finish. Aged in 25% new, 100% American oak cooperage for 18 months. 400 cases produced
