The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Ark Vineyard is full of freshly crushed red and black currants, black cherries, black raspberries and cassis scents with spectacular lilacs and fragrant earth accents. Full-bodied, rich and velvety, the palate is densely packed with lavish and extravagant fruit, finishing with long, lingering earthy notes.
Hundred Acre wines are aged for a minimum of 30 months in the finest, center-cut French oak barrique. The stave wood is hand-selected for ultra-tight grain, then air dried for three years before being made into barrels.
All Hundred Acre wines are made by sorting the fruit berry by berry, fermenting in small, French oak fermenters, and long aging in the finest barriques. The secret to Hundred Acre is no compromise and no detail overlooked, ever. The 2018 is a monolithic year that must be given a great deal of respect. The 2018 vintage is not funny, it is deadly serious and makes me stop in my tracks, it was a beautiful vintage, one of my happiest and maybe my happiest ever. I smile when I think of the 2018 and just keep smiling.
