VIN92 The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Le Pich is absolutely gorgeous. Ripe, plummy and so enticing, the 2018 offers tremendous appeal and tons of pure pleasure. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice and licorice are nicely pushed forward in this gorgeous, mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon from Julien Fayard. Best of all, the 2018 is a terrific value. 
Estate Notes: The brilliant magenta robe beckons with ripe red fruit and delicate baking spice aromas. Juicy boysenberry and ripe red berries expand in the mouth, edged with gentle floral notes and fresh-baked pastry. Round, full and fresh, this wine shows ripe tannins already falling smoothly into place, and a long, rich finish of boysenberry and warm raspberry preserves. 3400 cases produced – 14.9% alc. 50% new French Oak

Winemaker Julien Fayard worked briefly at Quintessa before signing on as Director of Winemaking for Philippe Melka’s distinctive wine consulting company Atelier Melka, specializing in small production, handcrafted high end wines. It was here, working with a variety of clients including Lail Vineyards, Gemstone, Dalla Valle, and more that Julien further developed his winemaking style, while also gaining an intimate understanding of the valley’s vineyards and establishing strong relationships with its many passionate, quality-dedicated growers. He has a contagious spirit and a generous attitude with his peers in the industry that ultimately spills over into his craft. He is currently the man behind celebrated brands Purlieu, Covert, Empreinte and Matthew Wallace, each of which have become incredibly sought after over the years, while availability is becoming more and more scarce.
