2019 Clos du Caillou White Blend ‘Bouquet des Garrigues’ Côtes du Rhone

WSI93 Tropical bouquet, papaya, honey melon, pineapple. Rich and seductive palate, brimming with tropical fruit and honeyed notes, great depth and warmth – lots of glycerine and a delicate acidity to finish it fresh.
Estate Notes: 40% Clairette Rose, 30% Grenache Blanc, 15% Viognier, 15% Roussanne. Estate vines are located within the estate’s “clos” or vineyards surrounded by a stone wall. Soils are sandy, with many galets roulés (large quartz stones); local “garrigue,” or wild herbs such as thyme and rosemary, grow profusely here. Hand-harvested. Pressed full cluster. Juice left to settle overnight in temperature-controlled tanks; fermented on indigenous yeasts. Aged on fine lees in tank.
