2019 Northern Gale Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

TWI95 Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Northern Gale storms out with powerful notes of baked plums, warm cassis, and black-berry preserves, plus wafts of dark chocolate, licorice, and menthol. The full-bodied palate has a lively backbone and grainy texture to support the bright, crunchy black fruit, finishing with lovely vibrancy.
JD92 The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Northern Gale saw a similar 30 months in oak but saw slightly less new oak, being aged in 58% new barrels. It has a darker core of cassis and currant fruits, medium to full-bodied richness, some tobacco, chocolate, and herbal nuances, a great texture, and outstanding length. It’s certainly another noteworthy effort as well as a serious value. Drink bottles over the coming decade.
