2019 Remoissenet Maltroye 1er Cru Chassagne Montrachet

WSI94 Rich, unctuous, round and generous. Gorgeous pear, melon and tropical notes. Medium body with an alluring vibrant mineral finish, a mouth-watering acidity that leaves the palate refreshed. Certainly a very good choice with fattier foods (Pork terrine, salmon, creamy cheese).
Estate Notes: Aromas of lemon confit, pear, white peach, light white pepper. Medium-bodied, fresh; silky texture. Selected (purchased) fruit from ‘La Maltroye’ (often spelled ‘Maltroie’), facing east, on a gentle slope. Soils are very stony. Hand-harvested. Pressed full-cluster; fermented on indigenous yeasts in 228L and 342L French oak barrels (35-45% new), aged in same barrels. Age of vines: 20-40 years.
