2020 Lamborn Family Vineyards ‘Carnation’ Happy Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon

WE93 A nod to the family’s legacy of growing carnations, this bottling is an example of a Napa estate heading south in the smoky 2020 vintage and the results are delicious. Fat aromas of black cherry, warm pastry, graphite and a punch of herb lead into a bold palate that picks up anise, oregano and black peppercorn to enhance the ripe cherry fruits.
Estate Notes: Showcasing a deep magenta and garnet hue, the nose immediately offers notes of currant, pomegranate, and raspberry fruit intertwined with caramel and holiday spice. Medium body with moderate tannin, rich and decadent layers of chocolate, blueberry, and north star cherry predominate more subtle hints of gingerbread and orange zest. This is a playful yet elegant Cabernet that continues to express its beauty as it evolves in your glass. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Sirah. Aged in French barrels, 34% new, 22 months.
