WSI96 IWR95 The 2022 Sage Ridge Cabernet Sage Ridge opens with a captivating bouquet of ripe blackberries, crème de cassis, violets, and graphite, accented by exotic spices and a whisper of fresh sage that leap from the glass. On the palate, it reveals a stunning full body, with silky, finely polished tannins and remarkable balance. The wine is both structured and concentrated, showcasing layers of deep dark and blue fruit flavors, all beautifully framed by a delicate touch of acidity. The finish is long, seamless, and polished, leaving a lasting impression. Already impressive in its youth, it promises to evolve gracefully and deliver exceptional enjoyment for years to come.
Winemaker Notes: Packed with pie spices and sandalwood atop the prettiest red fruits you have ever encountered in Cabernet Sauvignon. It is still early, but 2022’s Sage Ridge is likely our favorite vintage yet of this bottling. High toned, per usual, but this edition simply dances on the palate with incredible lightness, doling out the aforementioned spices in all directions. It is a madcap unspooling of flavors as the wine twirls into its refreshing finish.
