2022 Dana Estates ‘Helms Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon

JS97 Crushed stones, dried lavender, blackberries, chocolate, hazelnuts and rose petals and stems on the nose. It’s full-bodied with medium tannins that are open and plush. So delicious now, but will age nicely.
JD96 The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Helms Vineyard showed beautifully, and you’d be hard-pressed to peg it as a 2022. Coming from the vineyard around the estate in Rutherford, it has a gorgeous nose of red and black plums, spicy oak, tobacco, and chocolate. This carries to a full-bodied 2022 with plenty of mid-palate depth, ripe, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It’s certainly more forward and approachable than previous vintages (it’s not far off the style of the 2019), yet it’s still going to have two decades of longevity.
