2022 Villa Varda Pinot Grigio Friuli

Golden yellow with reflections reminiscent of onion skin. Aromatic, ethereal and delicate, it refers to the characteristics of the lands of origin. Floral, fruity with notes of pear, apricot and citrine nuances. Harmonious, persistent with mineral and balsamic shades.
Aromas of green apple, wildflowers, citrus zest. Juicy and lively, with a core of citrus and white fruits. Hand-harvested. Cold maceration for 72 hours. Pressed, then fermented on indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks. Aged on fine lees in tank.

Here along the banks of the Livenza river in the foothills of the Alps, the classic stones of Grave mix with limestone, giving a Burgundian finesse to Friulano and Refosco. With some 37 acres
planted to Friuli’s native grapes, the Maccan family harvests their bounty by hand and crafts character-rich, single-varietal wines that effortlessly reflect the breathtaking beauty of this mountain refuge.
