JD95 The first vintage of 2022 Malbec Bramare Valle de Uco was made in 2008, when Hobbs had only one grower – it’s now grown to 12. The grapes undergo the same winemaking process, with 5% whole cluster from just one lot. Representing the range of flavors possible across Valle de Uco, there’s black fruit, but also plenty of floral aromatics (think violet) and complex minerality. The structure is delicate and graceful, giving the wine a sublime, sophisticated character of great finesse and length. Enjoy through 2037.
JS95 Tight, intense and layered, this full-bodied wine can be appreciated now for its cocoa, blueberry and blackcurrant flavors, but will surely improve and gain complexity with time. Aged in 20% new oak, mostly barriques. Very fine-grained tannins wrap around deep blue and black fruit, with spearmint and dark chocolate buoyed by good acidity and showing great minerality in the finish. Best from 2028.
