2023 Kistler Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

JD96 Always the first wine they pick, the 2022 Pinot Noir Laguna Ridge Vineyard is a youthful magenta color and is packed with a darker profile and more stuffing on the nose, including notes of crushed raspberries, black cherries, dark mineral earth, mossy earth, and violets. Medium to full-bodied, it’s also light on its feet, with bright acidity, plush ripe tannins, a citrusy hint of blood orange, and a spicy finish. It’s going to demand a few years in the cellar. Drink 2026-2040.

TWI95 Medium to deep ruby-purple in color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Laguna Ridge Vineyard comes barreling out with bold notes of crushed blackberries, wild blueberries, and kirsch giving way to hints of rose oil, anise, and forest floor with a waft of wild sage. The medium to full-bodied palate is plush and mouth-coating, delivering bags of black and blue berry flavors with a refreshingly long and a spicy lift on the finish.
