Take a trip around the world without leaving the comfort of your own home with 4 wines from some of the most famous growing regions. This set contains 4 different red wines:
2018 La Ca Nova ‘Montestefano’ Barbaresco DOCG
Forest floor, cedar, new leather, and camphor aromas take shape in the glass on this compelling, earthy red. Showing a Barolo-like structure, the full-bodied, savory palate has an alluring wildness and energy to it, delivering dried cherry, blood orange, black olive, and licorice framed against a backbone of tightly knit tannins. Bright acidity keeps it balanced.
2019 Honig Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
A very aromatic red, offering baking spices, such as cinnamon, cloves and anisette, as well as notes of ripe blackcurrants, plums and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with soft tannins and a ripe yet vibrant and juicy fruit core. Long, warming finish. Drinkable now, but better in a few years.
2019 Groom Bush Block Barossa Valley Zinfandel
Estate Kalimna vineyard, 17 year old vines, hand picked, matured 12 months in 25% new 50/50% American/French oak barrels. Spicy dark fruitcake and fruit-mince spice proclaim Zin. Juicy blackberries and black berries are well set off by nicely composed acidity and fine-ground tannins. Dark chocolate oak an eloquent afterthought.
2019 Chateau Saint Sulpice Bordeaux Rouge
A tried-and-true Bordeaux that never disappoints, Chateau St. Sulpice is made of about two-thirds Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc making up the balance. Spicy and upfront with its cherry and roasted plum aromas, there is nice weight and balance.
