2016 Saint Helena Winery ‘Estate’ Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

WA93 The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (100% Cabernet) is deep garnet-purple colored and gives up very classy cassis and cigar box notes with nuances of underbrush, cedar chest, pencil lead and smoked meats. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating blackcurrant flavors with loads of earthy sparks and a firm, grainy-textured finish. 300 cases produced, to be released in August 2019.
Estate Notes: The 2016 Estate Cabernet comes from a near perfect vintage in the Napa Valley and offers notes of fragrant violet, ripe plum and cherry along with black tea, spice, and coriander seed. On the palate the wine is lush and balanced leading to a beautiful, lingering finish

Saint Helena Estate is a thirteen-acre vineyard on the Napa Valley floor, located on Pratt Avenue with Bale loam soils. Vines are cane pruned and hand-tended down to two clusters per shoot, yielding approximately two tons per acre. The vineyard is managed by Lindsey Wallingford and our estate crew, with consulting from Aaron Pott.
Cold soak for 5 days. Post-fermentation maceration 14 days. Racked twice. 22 months in 70% new French oak barrels: Bossuet, Darnajou, Sylvain, Taransaud
