2017 Clos du Caillou Les Safres Châteauneuf-du-Pâpe Rhone Blend

WA93-95 Like the other 2017s here, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Safres is full- bodied, concentrated and velvety in texture, while boasting exceptional aromas and flavors of red raspberries and ripe cherries. Ripe, supple and long, it should be a winner. 
Estate Notes: 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah. Sourced from estate lieu-dit ‘Les Bedines,’ with “safres” or compacted sand soils. Vine age 60 to 70 years. Hand-harvested. Destemmed; fermented on indigenous yeasts in cement tank. Aged in foudre
and demi-muid for 14 months. Unfined and unfiltered.
