WSI98 Beautiful concentration of fruit, blue notes and red notes, supported by very elegant tannins and a supple, chewy mouthfeel – finesse and complexity, coaxing the best out of this prestigious vineyard. Possibly the best cabernet tasted from the 2017 vintage.
From Winemaker Aaron Pott: Greer is the power balanced with elegance. Their magic three-acre vineyard is between Staglin, Morsoli, Scarecrow, Bella Oaks, and Inglenook on the juiciest part of the Rutherford Bench. The wines have been consistently outstanding, with Pauillac-like fruit with impeccable balance, density, and complexity, finishing with the most unbelievably supple tannins and length. Structured and age-worthy yet elegant and drinkable young. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced solely from the family vineyard in Rutherford. The wine is fermented using indigenous yeast and bacteria. Nothing is added to inhibit the precise expression of terroir. To guarantee age-worthiness, we pack tons of those silky tannins into the wine and show it as little oxygen as possible. It is this purity of process that creates a multi-dimensional tasting experience recognized by our discerning clientele. The wine is aged in French oak, 60% new and 40% once used. The overall result is a relatively low alcohol, elegant, impeccably balanced wine structured to age as well as any fine Bordeaux.
