WA93 The Fattoria le Pupille 2017 Morellino di Scansano Riserva is a beautifully enriched and nicely concentrated expression. This hot vintage red opens to dark cherry, blackberry, dark earth and tobacco. The wine shows good balance, despite all the scorching temperatures and rainless weeks of the summer growing season. This Riserva puts forth a delicate and subdued personalty against all odds. It speaks of the hard work achieved to tame the unruly intensity and exaggerated richness of the vintage. It would pair with an autumnal dish such as risotto with porcini mushrooms.
