The first premium, “méthode Provençale” California Rosé. Élan and Julien Fayard founded Azur Wines, and became the first producer to bring the true and authentic Provençale technique of rosé wine production to the United States. Since the first vintage in 2007, Azur Rosé has been comprised of grapes selected and harvested for 100% dedicated rosé wine production. The wine greets you with a delicate nose which hints at strawberry, white peach, and golden raspberry. The very first sip shows the finesse of this wine. Aging: 100% stainless steel. 2000 cases produced from a blend of Grenache and Syrah fruit from Rutherford and the Sierra Foothills!
Winery Notes: California sunshine and Provence delights are captured in this vintage of rosé. Light rose color with copper hues; the nose opens to a delicate bouquet of white flowers with seductive peach accents. Fresh and focused, the sophisticated palate offers elegant layers of raspberry, strawberry and watermelon. An alluring mineral finish completes this purely harmonious wine.
Julien Fayard gained his knowledge and defined his core winemaking style from working at grand Chateaux in France such as Lafite Rothschild and Smith Haut Lafitte. In Napa Valley, he’s worked alongside renowned winemaker Philippe Melka. He has come to be a Napa Valley veteran after many years of working with some of the most highly acclaimed and sought after wines from the Napa Valley. This Rosé is an outstanding effort.
