2018 Melanson Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

WSI96 An elegant, smooth and dense wine, with loads of raspberry and blueberry notes that burst out on the palate and linger for a good minute – very supple tannins. Delicious! 
Estate Notes: This 2018 offering shows a distinctive cherry profile and typifies the concentrated wines that hail from the rocky slopes of Pritchard Hill.   Blended from Clone 7 and Clone Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine’s dark cherry, currant, cassis and sweet oak tones carry from the nose through into the palate.   The intense fruit is framed by a very sturdy and age worthy tannin structure, a reflection of the rugged vineyard site. Winemaker Jeff Fontanella (Opus One, Saddleback) extended barrel aging to 30 months to add a touch of creaminess to the length and finish of this beautiful wine. 200 cases produced.
