WE92 The late founder Denis Dubourdieu was the master of white wine in Bordeaux. So it is pleasing that this wine should be so fine. Subtly rich, with generous white fruits, ripeness and concentration, the wine is developing well. Drink from 2022.
VIN90-92 The 2019 Clos Floridène Blanc is a gorgeous, distinctive white. Bright acids bring freshness to the ripe orchard and tropical fruit flavors. Pear, white peach, passionfruit and jasmine give the Blanc an intensely aromatic profile that is beguiling. Creamy and open-knit, the Blanc will be immensely enjoyable upon release.
Clos Floridene was founded in 1982 by the legendary consultant Denis Dubourdieu and his wife Florence. But many of the vines are much older than this, now dominated by Semillon. This gives focus and breadth when young while also allowing it to gain roundness and complexity for decades in cellar. Fleshy, refreshing and very finely made, this is a modern classic that’s much better than its price. A must-have for any lover of white Bordeaux.
A ripe yet fresh blend of semillon and sauvignon from the Dubourdieu family’s well-respected property in the Graves. Grown on limestone soils which are ideally suited for making serious white.
