2020 Abadia Retuerta ‘Cuvée Palomar’ Sardón de Duero

WSI94 VIN94 The 2020 Cuvée Palomar is a blend of 53% Tempranillo, 30% Garnacha, 13% Graciano and 4% Malbec from Sardón del Duero and was aged for two years in 20% new French and American oak barrels. Garnet with a purplish sheen. The nose presents plum, violets, sour cherry and subtle lactic and oaky notes. Dry and slightly lean with a juicy, delicate palate, it ends with a creamy flourish. This is a precise, rewarding red.
WA93 The 2020 Cuvée Palomar shows very good balance, coming through as subtle and elegant. It was produced with a blend of 53% Tempranillo, 30% Garnacha, 13% Graciano and 4% Malbec and has contained ripeness and 14% alcohol. It has some spicy and earthy notes, a medium-bodied palate and a tender mouthfeel that is elegant and with round tannins.
