JD94 The 2021 Barolo Del Comune Di Serralunga D’Alba is bright red, vibrant, and fresh, with notes of ripe cranberries, baking spice, apricot, and fresh rose perfume. Medium-bodied, it’s elegant and refined yet has the power of Serralunga without turning heavy in any way. It’s an exemplary Comune Barolo, which expresses the refinement and chiseled structure that the top wines in this vintage capture. It’s delightful to taste now and should also have a wide window for enjoyment over the coming 10-12 years.
Estate Notes: Aromas of red raspberry and plum, chocolate and cocoa nib, light pepper. Medium-bodied, fine-grained tannins. Hand-harvested. Destemmed; fermented on indigenous yeasts in cement tanks. Aged in Slavonian oak cask (15HL).
