2021 Site Wines ‘Larner Vineyard’ Red Blend

WA96 A blend of Syrah and Grenache, the 2021 Red Wine Larner Vineyard is especially pure and alluring on the nose. A deep core of cassis is accented by wafts of grilled meats, iron, violet, blackcurrant bud and coffee beans. The full-bodied palate is plush, velvety, perfumed and detailed with a very long, latent finish. This highly polished blend will be long lived in the cellar.
JD94 Moving to the reds, the 2021 Red Wine is based on 82% Syrah, 15% Grenache, and the rest Viognier, all aged 20 months in used barrels. Blackberries, red plums, ground pepper, violets, and a kiss of bacon fat all define the aromatics, and this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish. It should evolve for a solid 10-15 years in cold cellars.
VIN93 The 2021 Red Wine Larner Vineyard is a racy wine. Sumptuous dark fruit, mocha, incense, licorice and chocolate are nicely amplified. All the elements are impeccably balanced. There’s a bit of noticeable French oak here, but this is a style that hits all the right notes.
Estate Notes: This blend of Syrah (82%), Grenache (15%), and Viognier (3%) offers blackberries, bacon, licorice, and black pepper in the nose. The mouth is medium-bodied with plenty of acid and tannin to pair beautifully with any dinner.
