Estate Notes: Vibrant, complex and impeccably polished, this wine draws you in with aromas of pineapple, orange zest, lemon custard and tropical flowers, as well as rich notes of brioche, crème fraiche, vanilla bean, nutmeg and clove. On the palate it is lush and creamy, with a layered mouthfeel and flavors of ripe citrus, apricot, crème brûlée and French oak-inspired barrel spice, with a beam of bright acidity carrying the flavors to a long, luxurious finish.
The Grower Collection Chardonnay from Sangiacomo Vineyard in Carneros, crafted by winemaker Phillip Corallo-Titus, showcases the expertise of the Sangiacomo family, who have been farming since 1927. Their vineyard, located near San Pablo Bay, benefits from cool, windswept conditions that allow the grapes to mature slowly, developing intense varietal character while maintaining excellent acidity and finesse. The wine undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation and is aged in 100% French oak barrels, 35% of which are new, resulting in a creamy, rich palate with lovely depth and structure. Lavish aromas of honeydew melon, lemon zest, white peach, nectarine, and tropical flowers are complemented by hints of vanilla, nutmeg, clove, and brioche from the oak aging. Natural acidity adds poise and energy to the juicy citrus and stone fruit flavors, leading to a long, vibrant finish.
