2023 Domaine Cherrier ‘La Croix Poignant’ Sancerre Blanc

Aromas of citrus zest, lime juice, crushed stones, sea spray, preserved lemons. Richly aromatic, light on the tongue. Fresh notes of citrus, white fruit, fresh hay.
‘La Croix Poignant’ is a single-vineyard selection of primarily older vines. Soils are the classic Loire “terres blanches,” a combination of clay and chalk, plus flint stone. AGE OF VINES: 25 years on average, with some 70 years old WINEMAKING: Hand-harvested. Destemmed and pressed; fermented on indigenous yeasts in tank. Aged in tank on fine lees.
