2023 Remoissenet Père et Fils Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru

This is a rich and concentrated wine, one you can sink into. There’s luxurious dark cherry fruit and sweet vanilla, with spicy pepper too. There’s great weight to the palate, the wine creamy, with a core of concentrated fruit. Vibrant acidity cuts through the richness, keeping the wine balanced, while fine tannins provide the frame. Long and intense, this will need time.

Estate-owned vines, farmed biodynamically, from two parcels acquired in 2006. Located in the “the real” Charmes, at the northern edge of the vineyard, these plots have rare “pinot fin” vines propagated via massal selection, now 60 to 75 years old.
