Great mineral brightness and full mouth-feel, weighty. Sourced from some of the last acreage of Chenin Blanc in the Napa Valley. Whole cluster pressed and racking to naturally ferment in unlined hand made tuscan clay amphora.. Mineral and melon tones lift and widen providing just enough acid quelch to keep things interesting. Delicate with compelling balance. Lifted fruit, while detailing restraint.
Chenin Blanc was THE most planted grapes in Napa until Cabernet Sauvignon took over in the 1980’s. With Shypoke’s roots running back to 1904, it is no surprise to see them produce a Napa Valley Chenin Blanc for an incredible price. Bright and crisp with green apple, pear, a soupçon of grassiness and tropical notes. The grapes trademark plumpness and high acidity shoulder acacia flowers, melon, passion fruit and a lengthy finish that is very cleansing.
