Wine Spectrum’s roots are firmly planted in wine country, and we’re able to discover small, artisan winemakers. Justin Harmon of Argot is an artisan winemakers that we’re excited about. We were impressed by Justin Harmon’s powerful winemaking and his characteristic Argot style—massive wines with loads of dark, ripe, cassis and cherry flavors and a dark licorice component. These wines are bold and full-bodied and immediately appealing, engrossing—a hedonistic celebration! Perfect to enjoy now after decanting or save in your cellar.
The Artisan Collection 3-pack features 1 bottle each of:
Argot Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley. WSI94 JD91+ The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is rock-solid, offering lots of black and blue fruits as well as notes of graphite, chocolate, and rocky minerality. Medium to full-bodied, it has a nicely concentrated, elegant texture, both tannins and acidity, and outstanding length.
Argot Cabernet Sauvignon Sage Vineyard Napa Valley. WSI95+ JD95 The Cabernet Sauvignon Sage Ridge Vineyard is a more lifted, perfumed wine and has a great nose of blueberries, mulberries, wildflowers, cedary spice, and incense. This carries to a beautifully textured, full-bodied, elegant 2018 with loads of texture and richness, sweet tannins, and a great finish.
Argot Syrah ‘Indigo’ Sonoma County. WSI96 JD96+ Coming from a site on Sonoma Mountain, it has a complex nose of spiced black raspberries and blackberries mixed with notes of camphor, bacon fat, spiced meats, and dried flowers. Complex and full-bodied, with a round, layered texture and a great finish, it’s well worth seeking out and is going to stand up to any Syrah coming out of California today.
