WA97+ One-hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 80% new French oak for 20 months, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is deep garnet-purple in color and opens with perfumed notes of red and black currant preserves, mulberries, kirsch and cigar box with nuances of black tea, roses, fragrant earth and smoked meats. Medium to full-bodied, it’s very polished on the palate, with firm, fine-grained tannins, wonderful freshness and a layered finish with some mineral nuances coming through. 120 cases produced.
Estate Notes: The 2016 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is dark purple in color. The nose is very pronounced with notes of dark cherry, vanilla, cigar box and a hint of olive tapenade. Full bodied, structured with a solid tension and layered flavors of dark blackberry, blueberry and black currant with crushed rock and cassis. Exquisitely integrated oak supporting the fruit profile of the wine with a hint of sweetness and vanilla notes. Nice acidity with well-integrated tannins, finishing long. Barrel Aging: 20 months in 80% new French oak, multiple coopers. 120 cases. 15.5% alc.
