WSI93+ Great overall abalone and mouthfeel. This wine never disappoints and over-delivers on the price/quality ratio. Big, fragrant nose of blueberries, earth and dried herbs. Full-bodied, nicely concentrated and elegant style.
Estate Notes: Silver Ghost is a rich, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon crafted from some of the finest vineyards in the Napa Valley. The wine is deep in color, with complex aromas of blueberry, crème de cassis and violets leaping from the glass. On the palate Silver Ghost offers layers of red and black fruit intermingled with mocha, toast and dark spice. A sumptuous texture rounds out the long finish.
Silver Ghost founder Weston Eidson’s great-grandfather, John Montagu, was an automobile pioneer at the turn of the last century. Being a British Lord and in Parliament, he was instrumental in much of the early automotive legislation and even gave the future Edward VII his first car ride. He was friends with Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, and his secretary served as the model for the Rolls-Royce hood ornament, the Spirit of Ecstasy, which we still see on Rolls-Royce cars today. Silver Ghost derives its name from John Montagu’s favorite car, the 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost. And like its name, the wine itself is filled with layers of richness, culture and authenticity.
