2020 Cantine Filippi Soave Vigna della Brà Colli Scaligeri Veneto

WSI92 VIN91 The 2020 Soave is delicately flroal and lifted in the glass, as nuances of peach skin, green apple, zest of lime and smoke form its bouquet. Its silky texture usher in ripe orchard fruits and hints of sour melon across a core of brisk acids and flinty minerals. Really impressive with a nose that reminds me quite a bit of a fine German Riesling kabinett.

Estate Notes: Practically as high in altitude as the estate’s Castelcerino vineyard is a small region called Brà, where winemaker Filippo Filippi tends older Garganega vines in pergola on clay- and limestone-rich soils. A lovely and lithe, very mineral Soave, ideal with fresh seafood (shellfish is ideal) and richly aromatic.
Aromas of tropical fruits, pear, almonds, apple. Grows complexity and intensity with air. Medium-bodied; wonderful texture. Very mineral, notes of sea salt. Blenheim apricots, orange rind, more apple.
