The nose has lovely citrus – grapefruit and lime zest with minerality and vegetal notes. The palate is dry and fresh with lots of ripe citrus fruit (lemon and grapefruit) with a touch of nectarine and passion fruit. A long, zesty teeth-costing finish with light creaminess and some smoke.
100% Sauvignon Blanc. A southwest-facing vineyard, ‘Les Romains’ was one of the domaine’s first single-vineyard bottlings (thefirst vintage was 1997). Pure flint (silex) soils, rich in fossilized material. Vine age 20-50 years. Hand-harvested. Fermented onindigenous yeasts in upright wooden tanks (25-36HL). Aged for one year in wooden tank. Unfiltered.
